Taco was the first guy I called when I began to build my leadership team.
Taco and I had been friends for several years and had done lots of ministry together already. I knew his heart and his love for God and a desire to Love God and Love People as well as a desire to rightly divide the Word of Truth.
Taco is the associate pastor here at NYOC!
Sherman is from the hills of West Virginia. Has played the guitar since he was old enough to hold one.
He has been in Illinois since 2011.
I met Sherman a few months before we pulled the trigger on starting NYOC at a Royal Ranger meeting that our sons attended and Sherman was a leader.
After that meeting we began to talk and Sherman grabbed his guitar and taught me a few things about playing guitars while sitting on the tailgate of his truck.
I do not believe that was a chance meeting. Because just a few weeks later I asked him to be our worship pastor.
Sherman is right where the Lord wants him to be ,leading our wonderful praise team.
These two are a true testimony of Gods goodness and power! Leland and Mariah both are former addicts that have found their freedom In Jesus and His redeeming power!
The summer of 2019 they hit their bottom and have followed Jesus ever since.
It wasn’t long that they found themselves leading others to freedom from their addictions and salvation In Christ.
Leland and Mariah now lead our recovery group called “Made New”. Made New because according to 2 Corinthians 5:17 that’s just what happened to them! They have been Made New!
Mark is our voice in the darkness. He doesn’t get to spend much time with us on Saturday nights due to Southern Illinois crude oil (Mark drives an oil tanker) and his family business keeps him busy. But that does not nor will it ever stop him from sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and telling others about what God is doing at his home church , NYOC.
Mark is a vital part of NYOC leadership!
Dewayne is the, as Mark likes to call him, the adult of the group. Dewayne is Godly man that loves to pray over people in the alters. He is our treasurer, secretary, and is also our administrative pastor.
When I first met Dewayne and told him what God was fixing to do with me starting NYOC, we went out behind a building and hit our knees in prayer and he has been a vital part of our ministry ever since!

Here At NYOC, our main purpose is to make Jesus Christ known and to be known by him. Let anyone who hears come, let anyone who thirsts come, let anyone who desires to drink freely from the waters of life come. Whosoever calls on the name of The Lord shall be saved.
